We want to tell you about a tea which just arrived at 3CUPS. What makes this tea unique is it's from this year's 2009 harvest. Coming weeks before the traditional First Flush Darjeeling, this tea is called an early flush or winter tea. It comes from the organic tea gardens of the Arya Estate. By pruning select bushes in early July, early flushing occurs soon after the monsoons. The character of this tea is between an autumnal tea and a first flush tea from Darjeeling. It is obviously very fresh and tastes that way, with a fragrant aroma and the classic Darjeeling pungency. 2oz. costs $13 and 4oz. is $21.
