The Wine... 100% Tempranillo, from vines of 15 to 20 years old, fermented in stainless steel with natural yeasts. Arbanta is the joven, or young bottling from this bodega, and does not age in barrel like most red wine from Rioja. Red fruit and spice with a touch of smoke in the nose, richness, juicy plum and bittersweet cherry with mouth-watering acidity. Delicious and unmasked by oak. A great example of simplicity and purity.

The Family... Biurko Gorri is owned and operated by the Llorens family, who have passed these vineyards down through several generations. They have about 30 hectares of vineyards in three towns in northern Rioja: Labraza, Viana and Bargota, where their bodega is located. The family has a holistic, traditional and natural approach to farming and winemaking.

The Farm... The Tempranillo vineyard for Arbanta is located in the small town of Bargota in the foothills of the Sierra Cantabria Mountains. The farming method is organic, with use of plant and animal-based fertilizers to keep the soil healthy. The organic nature of the vineyard combined with ideal vineyard sites allow them to make really distinctive wines.
