Italy's Piedmont has a long history of aperitif wines infused with
aromatic herbs and barks. This one has been made with gentian, citrus,
and cinchona bark (quinine). It's a pleasantly quirky and a little
sweet. Classic applications include serving with club soda and a twist
of orange on the rocks, or with gin, triple sec, lemon, and absinthe -
also on the rocks.
