Bernard Baudry Chinon Les Grezeaux

The Man... Bernard Baudry is a new leader in quality winemaking in the central Loire. His 25 hectare estate in Chinon is the source of some of the most forward and enjoyable Cabernet Franc bottled in France today. After graduating from the oenology school in Beaune, Baudry set out to wed traditional meticulous farming practices and state of the art cellar technology. Today his son Mattieu aids Bernard in the creation of a memorable range of wines.

The Land... The Loire River Valley is comprised a number of geographically unique areas connected by an amazing river by the same name. The Loire Valley is amazingly diverse and beautiful. It combines a natural landscape with a fine architectural heritage of many chateaux, churches and monasteries. There are also the historic towns and villages important during the Renaissance and relevant today as contributors to the development of modern culture in Europe. In this region of France, there’s a history of interaction between humans and their environment, and it is reflected in the wines

The Wine... One should expect perfect ripeness and concentration in the wines of Bernard Baudry. Similar to the pioneering work of neighboring Domaine Charles Joguet, optimal extraction is created by Baudry while maintaining balance. Many parcels of old vines contribute low yielding fruit to Baudry's wine
