Lex Alexander

Managing Partner

Lex Alexander started Wellspring Grocery in 1980 with his wife Ann. When the business was sold to Whole Foods Market in 1991 he joined the Executive Team as their Food Guy, and worked there for 10 years as the company grew from 12 to 144 stores.

 

He opened 3CUPS in December of 2004 after a few years doing consulting work. Lex is in charge of the “ look” of the stores, the aesthetic of the brand, marketing, and advises on the day-to-day operations.

Badi E. Bradley

Partner

Badi E. Bradley joined 3CUPS in 2005 and has managed the company since 2006.  In 2007 he became an equity partner and is in charge of the coffee and tea segments as well as the general administration of the business. 

 

His passion for coffee started while in the Peace Corps in Guatemala and he has family in Colombia.  His mission is to raise the profile of these coffee farmers to the world class standards of their beans.

Jay Murrie

Partner

Jay Murrie lives in rural Durham county. Since January 2007, Jay has worked as Beverage Director for Lantern Restaurant in Chapel Hill. Lantern is nationally recognized for its diverse and food-appropriate wine list. Jay is an equity partner committed to helping us learn and grow our business.

 

He is committed to finding and promoting wines that share our vision of real quality and authentic flavor from growers who care about their land and their products.
